In October, PRE4CLE recognized the latest batch of high-quality PRE4CLE Providers in a ceremony at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. To be a PRE4CLE Provider, preschools must have a 3-, 4-, or 5-star Step Up To Quality rating and meet additional requirements for their teachers’ education levels and class size. Seventeen PRE4CLE Providers were recognized, bringing the total number of PRE4CLE Providers to 107.
A number of the new PRE4CLE Providers took advantage of training and grants that were made available through PRE4CLE. Three preschools–Old Brooklyn Horizon Education Centers, Market Square Horizon Education Centers, and Glenville Early Learning Center–were able to use PRE4CLE’s Classroom Expansion Grants to add more seats to their preschools. Another three preschools–Brightside Academy, A Jubilee Academy, and Intergenerational Day Care–tapped into training and technical support to fast track their path to a high-quality rating in PRE4CLE’s Accelerated Quality Improvement Model (Read more about this on page 13 of our Annual Report).
The ceremony also celebrated five-star ratings at 29 CMSD preschools over the past two years, bringing the total number of CMSD five-star rated preschools to 35.
All PRE4CLE Providers and their staff were able to network, visit the museum exhibits, get chair massages, and enjoy an evening out. They were joined by staff from our partners at Starting Point and members of the Cleveland Early Childhood Compact.
