We are thrilled to announce that today Cleveland was officially named the fourth Say Yes to Education community-wide chapter in the nation! We join the community in celebrating this historic day that will change the lives of thousands of young people and the future of our region for the better. Say Yes Cleveland will bring comprehensive resources – including scholarships, support services, mentoring and more – to help many students across the city further their educational ambitions and achievement.
What Say Yes means for families:
- Support services for students in CMSD schools in all grades, including a family support specialist in each school, out-of-school learning opportunities (including after-school and summer programs), mental health services, and pro-bono legal clinics, rolled out to all schools by 2022, guided by a data system to help schools monitor student needs.
- College Scholarships over the next 25 years for all eligible students who have continuously lived within CMSD’s district lines and been enrolled in a CMSD or eligible partnering charter high school since the beginning of ninth grade, plus students in the graduating classes of 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 who meet the residency requirements and are continuously enrolled in a CMSD or eligible partnering charter high school through graduation. The scholarships are for tuition for postsecondary education (four-year university, two-year college or Pell-eligible certificate program).
