Letter from the Director

Dear PRE4CLE Supporters,

In 2014, a group of dedicated community leaders got together to create a plan for Cleveland to expand preschool. That plan became PRE4CLE. It’s hard to believe that five years has passed since our work began.

In that time we’ve had a number of important accomplishments. We’ve increased the number of children in high-quality preschool by nearly 70%; there are well over 100 high-quality preschool providers; more Cleveland neighborhoods have high-quality programs; thousands of people have heard about PRE4CLE and the importance of high-quality preschool through our recruitment campaign, social media, website, events, advocacy, media appearances, and speaking engagements; and, most importantly, more children are entering kindergarten ready to succeed.

Since 2014, that initial group of committed individuals has grown to include partnerships with hundreds of organizations and thousands of people across the city, state, and country that support our work, including you. This year, we will be marking our five year anniversary in a number of ways, including launching some new projects and reflecting on our work up to this point and we want to hear from you! If you have a story about how PRE4CLE has impacted you, please let us know.

As we look to the future, there is still much work to be done and we need your continued commitment to realize our vision that every child in Cleveland enters kindergarten ready to succeed. Thank you for your support.

Kind regards,

Katie Kelly
