Salvation Army Cleveland Temple’s Learning Zone Director Margaret Craig has a slogan for her center. When kids come through the door with challenges, she says that she and her staff will “love them right through that.” In practice, that means that the children at Salvation Army are part of a small, supportive group that provides them one-on-one attention and includes foster grandparents in the classroom for extra support.
Salvation Army is focused on making sure parents understand that goal as well. The preschool teacher uses a program to communicate with parents and send them photos of their children throughout the school day. Parents can expect to see photos of their children eating healthy meals with fresh vegetables, participating in arts-based programming such as music, and working in the garden. Salvation Army has partnerships with its local library, CDC, and several schools in the Collinwood Neighborhood
Salvation Army Cleveland Temple is a 3-star rated preschool located in North Shore Collinwood. It serves 3- and 4-year-olds in its preschool program and kids in kindergarten through eighth grade, Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
