Every child ready, every future bright

PRE4CLE is a collaborative initiative dedicated to ensuring that every 3- and 4-year-old in Cleveland has access to high-quality preschool. Our vision is that every child enters kindergarten ready to succeed.

When PRE4CLE began in 2014:

Harnessing Cleveland’s
Collective Strength

The PRE4CLE Plan maps out community-level goals and strategies championed and implemented by a coalition of trusted partners dedicated to expanding access to high-quality preschool.

PRE4CLE is a collective impact initiative made up of a network of community members, organizations, and institutions who align and integrate their actions to achieve the goals of the Plan.

Since 2014, PRE4CLE has worked to ensure every child in Cleveland has access to high-quality preschool, advocating for a strong foundation for academic success and lifelong learning.

The preschool system can be confusing, stressful, and difficult to navigate. We provide families with the information they need to enroll in high-quality preschool through:

Connecting Preschool Providers

Through a rigorous application process, eligible highly rated preschool programs join our network of PRE4CLE Preschools. These programs benefit from:

  • Grant opportunities like Early Learning Spaces
  • Marketing resources
  • Ongoing quality support
  • Networking and other professional opportunities

Providing Strategic Leadership

Elevating PRE4CLE and preschool as a community issue and building community support by:

  • Offering support and expertise to other communities’ preschool initiatives
  • Participating in local, state, and national events, meetings, and conferences
  • Serving on local boards and committees
  • Coordinating strategic communication

Coordinating Advocacy

We advocate for issues that impact preschoolers, their families, and the early education sector at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure our community’s voice is heard through:

  • Establishing a set of preschool policy priorities
  • Providing testimony and meeting with policymakers
  • Identifying champions who support preschool issues
  • Offering advocacy training and resources to preschool providers and other partners
